Curious about our program and what we do? Let us lead you through the rehabilitation process and how to get started!
Before we meet you in person our team is fast at work reading over your pet’s medical records and advanced imaging reports. The more information you can provide to us, the more thorough and prepared we can be for the initial assessment!
We understand, at times, scheduling with the Doctor can be challenging, we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. Rest assured, our waitlist is very successful and highly monitored. Please call the office for up to date information on scheduling.
As a new client you will be guided through the Initial Evaluation by our Therapy Team and our Rehabilitation Certified Veterinarian, Dr. Francisco DiPolo. We will have some brief paperwork for you to complete on arrival. Once checked in, you and your pet will be brought into a private room and Dr. DiPolo and the Rehabilitation Technician will walk you and your pet through the process.
We try our best to create a low stress environment, often encouraging the pet to stroll around the room freely as to read the active limitations before doing a hands-on exam. During the physical exam the Doctor will complete a full body assessment. At this time a discussion will begin regarding diagnosis, prognosis, activity modifications, restriction timelines, development of a treatment plan, prescribing of a duration and frequency of therapy sessions, and finally a review of medication and supplements. Any and all questions are welcome during our evaluation as we encourage client education.
The second portion of the Initial evaluation includes a hands on demonstration of the home exercise program. An email will be sent to you afterwards including a playlist of videos with exercises, passive therapies, and modifications. The rehabilitation technician will review appropriate exercises for your pet and assign ideal duration and frequency.
You will then be able to set up your follow up appointments and purchase packages should you wish to commit to a 5, 10 or 20 week program. Packages of sessions are eligible for a 10% discount. Please discuss with client services your needs regarding scheduling, insurance, and invoicing. We will do everything we can to assist you and your pet.
Congratulations! You completed the initial step of the W4D Rehabilitation Program! Now that you have been evaluated and prescribed a treatment plan you are able to come in as regularly as once a week for your follow up sessions of 30, 45, or 60 minutes in duration.
We look forward to working with you!
