Do I need a referral from my primary vet to be seen?

You do not nee d a referral from your primary vet to begin the rehabilitation process at Water4Dogs. Our team of veterinary doctors are dually accredited and can complete a thorough assessment during your evaluation.

Will you share findings with my pet’s other healthcare providers?

Of course! We believe in teamwork and as such provide a detailed assessment and treatment plan with your referring veterinarians.

Do you accept pet insurance?

While we do not directly accept insurance, our team can help you submit claims and assist with reimbursement. We are currently unable to accept CareCredit.

Are vaccines required?

New York State requires that all dogs are up to date with their rabies, bordetella (kennel cough) and distemper vaccines given by a licensed veterinarian. In rare cases, patients with health conditions that preclude vaccination may obtain a waiver from our veterinarian prior to engaging in therapy.

Is it necessary for me to accompany my pet?

You are always welcome, but it is not necessary for you to accompany your pet. We have daycare and boarding options for those who wish to leave their pets in our care for a few hours, or for longer stays.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just your pet! We provide towels, life jackets, harnesses and everything else you will need for your appointment.
